3rd Feb - United offers Economy plus

United Airlines is now offering Economy Plus seating to all of its former Continental 757 aircraft serving international routes including London, Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh. The product offers passengers six inches of extra legroom, with the newly-configured aircraft now also featuring 16 full-flat Business First seats, 45 Economy Plus seats and 108 economy seats.

1st Feb - Flybe adds to Leeds schedule

Low cost airline Flybe will operate a service three times a week between Leeds Bradford Airport and Knock on Ireland’s west coast starting March 25. The service will expand Flybe’s summer schedule from Leeds Bradford airport to a total of five routes with a choice of up to 88 flights a week. Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

31st Jan - Hong Kong Airlines' new fleet

Hong Kong Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-200 featuring a new all premium class layout configured with 116 seats. The new aircraft will operate between London Gatwick and Hong Kong from March 8, and will feature two premium cabins and include WI-Fi coverage, bars and state of the art entertainment systems. Passengers will also be offered a limousine service.

30th Jan - Qatar first with the Dreamliner

Doha-based Qatar Airways hopes to become the first carrier to operate the brand new Boeing 787 from the UK and plans to take delivery of its first Dreamliner sometime this summer. Qatar will make London the first destination outside the Gulf to see a daily scheduled Dreamliner service, and will operate one of five daily services between Heathrow and Doha later this year.

27th Jan - Strike action in Belgium

Travellers may experience disruption to travel in Belgium on 30 January 2012, as flights and rail services face disruption due to a planned general strike. The strike action officially begins at 22:00 on Sunday 29 January until 22:00 on Monday 30 January. Flights to and from airports in Belgium may be affected and travellers are advised to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.

26th Jan - Ryanair adds Budapest service

Budget carrier Ryanair will launch four new routes to Budapest from April. Birmingham, Bristol, Stansted and Dublin airports will gain low cost Ryanair flights to the Hungarian capital this summer.
