British Airways will launch a brand new service from Gatwick to Las Vegas starting on 29th October. The flights will operate three times per week, so in conjunction with their current Heathrow services, BA will operate 10 flights per week to Las Vegas.
It has been advised that visitors to Chicago during the NATO summit taking place from 20-21 May, could experience service disruptions, road closures and planned reroutes in limited areas near McCormick Place where the summit is being held, and most demonstrations are likely to take place.
Easyjet will increase its North West services from Liverpool airport to the Isle of Man starting from November. The budget carrier will now operate a daily service between the two destinations with an additional service on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, bringing the total up from 6 to 10.
Low cost carrier Flybe will introduce services from East Midlands to Edinburgh and Glasgow airpots starting in September. This service was originally due to be launched in October but has been brought forward in response to the loss of Bmibaby's East Midlands services. Flybe will also increase its weekday flights from East Midlands to Belfast City airport from the current two to four starting in June and add two weekend services to that route aswell.
The United Airlines flag carrier, Etihad Airways, will begin a new service to Addis Ababa in Africa and Ahmedabad in India, starting in November. These flights will operate daily between Abu Dhabi and Ahmedabad, and five times a week initially between Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa, increasing to a daily service in 2013.
It has been advised that Unions of SEA Handling and SEA SpA (GHA / AA) have called a 24hrs strike in Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate on Friday 4th May. Flights are not currently affected but you are advised to visit your airline website prior to departure.
